I've got a stock 2008 Suzuki SV650 with a cut can that got 69 mpg on the daily commute which is 90%. Changed to 5w40 Rotella synthetic and released some time in the first three gears and now are 70-71 mpg. I ride tucked most of the time and can up shift at 2000 rpms. Cruise is 5500-6000 rpms.
Got to love fuel injection and oxygen sensor!
I'm impressed with the gas mileage of the older bikes!

2007 Tomos Streetmate
Just logged 82mpg on my last half tank.
But that's not a difficult feat with only a 50cc engine.

You can check on my fuel log here on the site, but I am now consistently averaging 70MPG.
I may try and drop down one more jet size and see where that gets me. As it is, I'm low on power, so I don't know what the trade off will be. I may be content with moderate fuel economy and moderate power. I'm not sure how much I would like great fuel economy with sub-par power.

i am finding it very difficult to keep the mpg up, it's taking a lot of self discipline to ride econimically which i tend to do towards the end of the month when money is tighter.

Well, I'm picking up two bikes today... I'm not sure which one of the two runs, but I know the other one doesn't have a title, and they both need restoration work.
They're both older Hondas... one is a TwinStar 185 (The one that I think runs and doesn't have a title) and I believe the other is a 325 or close to it.
So, maybe next season, I can chime in with some Motorbike MPG figures.

Nice christ! That 185 should be great...looks pretty comfortable too. I'm expecting to see a 100mpg tank out of you

On the 250 ninja, 70 mpg was the highest tank average I got, although I never really hyper miled it. It was just when I felt like riding lazily.
On the 600 Ninja, 54 mpg is the best tank average I've got, with it regularly being closer to 45. The 600 does not like to cold start at ALL. So I have to run the choke some even on the warmest of days. Once its warmed up though.. wow.
