Turtle Where to start? auto to manual swap on a metro.

I have a 92 convertible metro that is automatic and I want to be more efficient. Right now I'm getting about 34 miles per gallon with a daily commute of 25mph to 35 mph. I roughly travel about 16 miles a day. I do have a wrecked 99 metro with the 1.0 litre engine and manual transmission. I know the drive train is good. Is the 92 compatible with the 99? If someone knows of a thread or good write-up on how to do the swap that would awesome to have. What would be the best direction/mods to do to get the most efficiency with this car? Any suggestions would be great.

Study MetroMPG's posts on this forum and on his own web domain. It does not get better with a Metro.

Black and Green will be rebuilt over decades as parts die--until it becomes a different car. Goal is only 60-70 mpg at posted speeds. I'm not trying for highest possible mileage.

Calculators: standard deviation, Ohms Law, & drag HP losses.
