I like french curves. Flexible curves work too.

For full-scale layouts, say, for a curved aeroshell, I found my flexy black PVC sump drain line just perfect. Didn't even disconnect it; just put the board underneath it out in the yard. Cecil the Cat helped me with that.

Thanks Frank, I should have been more specific. I meant computer based tool without a huge learning curve attached to it.
