Anyone ever tried putting wings on their car to see if the Bernoulli Effect can improve fuel economy?

Wings produce lift (in whatever vector) and lift = drag.

Well I should have said it is true that some forms in some conditions can produce some forward thrust. Perhaps a vertical steerable wing like those desert racers have?
