wish they'd put this into production

built a few years ago now to break a record - could do over 100MPGus but also could break 256km/h on a flying kilometer. al this from a 1.3 fiat 500 diesel engine and the lotus elise chassis covered in the thinly disguised opel speedster-ish body

Yeah, though I have a hard time understanding the third picture. If the things on top of the car are supposed to be wings, they're remarkably un-aerodynamic. On the other hand, if they're retractable laser blaster pods, I want!

For open doors they don't look to be that much of a drag...

Sweet machine... wonder if my knees would be pinned to my chest in that like in a Turbo Esprit?

100-mpg

The windshield is a home-run.From the smoke you can see that the rear aspect of the roof/backlite is a bit "fast",with flow separation.Would need adjustable ride-height for daily driving. She's sweet!Hard to argue with the mpg.

It has a diesel. You'd need the resources of VW or Daimler-Benz to get the EPA to approve it.

Many Euro-makers have diesels. Few have the guts/money to get US EPA approval. And California is even worse.
