XFi vs. LSi?

I have been seeing a bunch of Metro LSi models for sale recently on craigslist in my area, but not so many XFi models. Is there something different, other then body style, from the LSi to the XFi?

xfi's were built specifically for FE. lots of websites around explaining the difference... links to which are in a couple current active threads (sorry, don't remember them off hand).

most significantly, the cam and tranny is different in the xfi than in other models. as to the LSi specifically, i think that was just a trip package (fancier stuff) than the standard base model (the xfi being the least trimmed out of them all)... but i could be wrong on that one.

xfi had a FE cam , 2 ring piston , and CPU for better mileage . it got about 50 mpg from the factory. i've done the same with a lsi car . it has an advanced cam gear , mileage cam , power pulley ,2 inch open exhaust , 13/175r13 tires (50psi) and high speed transmission. i get 50 mpg average with this combo, even with the heaver car body.

I had a lsi metro, it had sealed headlights not buckets.. and was fully painted. no black blastic bumpers etc.. id think that the XFI would have had the sealed areo headlights for areo..

But as above the xfi was the gas miser of the gas misers.. geared a bit differently and tuned for FE.. however I have read that simply switching to 155r80-13" gets your gearing near the XFI.. good place to start.. not to mention the 12" tires are getting hard to find.. My uncle was just inquiring about the 12" tires.. for his old metro he wants back on the road...just realize your speedo will be of.. so when doing milage calcs youll need to adjust your total milage by the % that your speed is off.
