Yamaha C3 Scooter Owner

Hello! I bought my first moped, a peugeot 103SP in 1981. Used to pack my sleeping bag + pack and ride! I've had my Yamaha C3 nearly a year and just replaced my variator with a Dr.Pulley unit, and installed a taller rear tire. This added 4mph to my top end speed and did wonderful things to how my scoot climbs hills! I'm glad to have found this group. Cheers! Gabe

C3 Tire / Wheel size!

I am considering purchasing a C3.

I have a question about the 10” tire / wheel size.

I am looking to install the very largest tire I can on the stock wheel.

What is the largest that can be installed on a C3 without hitting the: Fender, Frame, etc.

Best regards,

Mike Lynch

Turtle Tire Size

Hello Mike! I should get to this site more often, as this is where the serious folks are! You can install a 130/90-10 tire on the rear of a C3 and it'll rub just a bit on the upper inner fender between the 10:00 and 12:00 positions as viewed from the side. The fix is to fab some brackets to attach to the rear fender bracket mounting points that raise it a couple of inches. I have pictures I'd send you if I had a way to do it; It's not too hard to do with hand tools....Then You can put the 140 tire back there if you want, and still have a rear fender . Gabe
