I think my reluctance to go a tent comes from too many years, in the western parts of the Pacific NW where it seems like it can rain at any given moment.

If I travel to Montana, or Wyoming, I want to avoid snake contact,
and all points east of there; avoidance of ticks.

If the weather is warm enough, and the fact that on long trips, I like to shut down
about 1:30 AM or 2; inside the car can get roasty soon after sunrise, which makes for some short nights.
