It's similar to a barcode. You can take a picture with your smartphone and it will decode a message.

qr codes are kinda silly, I wouldn't blame anyone for saying "huh?".

"You mean I can take a picture of this glyph on this sign and it will give me a web address? IT would have been much simpler if they printed the website on the sign."

When your foot can keep a certain MPG while driving down the freeway and you are not watching the display.

...in the middle of your EOC a deer jumps out in front of you and while your foot jumps to the brake pedal you make a split second decision and a second later you go " whew that was close...I almost had to hit the brakes!"

Yep, that's a pretty good summary of my thoughts when I'm doing a glide and I *almost* have to hit the brakes...

While EOC my right foot is always over the brake pedal : safety first.

It saved the front of my car once. While I'm in the middle lane, a minivan decides to go from the left lane to the right lane. While in front of me she sees the right lane is totally stopped so decides to smash her brakes just in front of me. I only remember seeing a "van of the year" sticker coming very fast to my face and seeing a "school bus" sticker when I'm already stopped.

It also saved two teenagers. I'm gliding in city under the PSL and from an exit (so they used a "no entry") comes a big noise from the right. I just remember being stopped and seeing a moped with two teenagers passing at less than 1 foot in front of me. My 4 years old son said me "I'm scared". My father in law in the front passenger seat said me he didn't saw them before I was stopped. My wife and her mother didn't saw them as they escaped very fast.

In both cases the additional time to move my right foot from the accelerator to the brake pedal would have resulted in crumpled sheet metal and/or serious injuries.

Denis.
