Today, Scion unveiled their new Scion iQ Concept. The car, whose release in the North American market after sales in Japan and Europe has been much anticipated, appears to be a standard Toyota iQ with a few body upgrades.

Like most of Scion’s products, the iQ Concept is a “polarizing” car. It features 18″ wheels that can barely fit in the micro-compact’s tiny wheel wells and a radioactive paint job that from different angles can look either yellow or green.

However, edgy and impractical the car looks, do keep in mind that it is still a concept. During the release, Scion made it abundantly clear that, like in other markets, they intend the car to be an urban machine, owned mostly by young adults. This leads me to believe that not only will the concept make it to market, but it will make it with a look more reminiscent of the Toyota iQ.
