Hi,

Thinking for one's self and accepting the overwhelming consensus conclusion of the scientific community -- are not mutually exclusive. And yes, assuming that you know more than that scientific community and can dismiss their conclusions -- or some of them, is arrogant.

I just caught the end of the Charlie Rose show with Al Gore, and Mr. Gore was saying sure, he has investments with companies that will (and have) made money on changing our energy use -- he has to put his money where his mouth is, right? If he did NOT have those investments, you can be sure that the same people who accuse him of whipping up Global climate change to make himself rich -- would be calling him a hypocrite instead.

BTW, All Gore's new book "Our Choice" looks à propos:
Amazon.com: Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis (9781594867347): Al Gore: Books
