And since we understand about pumping losses, we also know that having less-dense intake air will help steady-state cruise MPG, while denser air will hurt steady-state cruise economy.

So you lose many ways; your A/C is a little less cool, your engine loses a bit of power from running that A/C, it takes fuel to run the A/C, and you incur greater pumping losses. Great, where do I sign up??
