You know what? Those people urinate me off too. But from my observations, it appears that maybe 1-2% of them are actually trying to save gas. The rest are just terminally stupid - and are usually driving some sort of gas guzzler anyway. I mean, how much intelligence does it take to let off on the gas when the light ahead is red, instead of racing up at full throttle and jamming on the brakes? Or to start going again when the light turns green, rather than waiting to e.g. put the last few dabs of polish on your nails? Or to accelerate to freeway speeds on the ramp, instead of pulling out into the travel lane at 30 mph?
