The only guage you could use is a fuel flow meter linked to a speed sensor. IIRC the '95 AX has an electronic speedo so you could tap into the input pulses for that, which would make the job easier.

Something like this would work, but be prohibitively expensive I expect!! JPS Engineering Fuel Meters
