Really, just to open yet another can of worms, considering the environmental costs of building new cars (especially hybrid vehicles), they should instead have spots reserved for cars older than 10 years.
Of course we're all missing the fact that stores never, ever go through the bother of enforcing these parking space rules. Anyone with a lifted dually pickup getting 5mpg can park in the space without worry about anything other than a bit of internet hate and at the very most a key mark.
