Yes. Get into top gear as soon as you can without lugging the engine. If you need more power later, downshift.
Minimize assist.
Maximize coasting (preferably engine-off via "forced auto stop" to retain power steering & brake vaccuum).
Maximize lean burn while cruising.
If you have to decelerate more quickly than coasting, mazimize regen to capture energy in the battery.
