It is worth it. Timing especially. These cars have the timing set too retarded from the factory and this may or may not be a contributor to the burnt exhaust valve issues these 3 cylinders have.

I would estimate that if you go 44PSI and then set the timing about 8 degrees advanced, you should get over 57MPH which would be a 6MPG increase respectively.
