I'd look into getting the highest compression piston you can find(usually a 13.5!) and when you get it polish the top to a mirror shine, and when you pull the head off of the engine polish the head and exhaust to a mirror shine also!! (I'm at a toss up on the intake side for the need of fuel atomization!??) the mirror finish blocks carbon build up on the inside of the cylinder allowing you to run lower octane fuel with the higher compression!!
