All of his calcultions were done to show the maximum of what would be possible regardless of the feasability of land area, cost, or raw materials. He calculated all of the available tide and wave power that could be captured ideally all the way around the British Isles at 20 kWh/d/p for the 60M people there. He had solar at 50kWh/d/p. This would take 200m^2 for every person. This would cover 10% of the land.
