Except that most of that stuff I either don't do at all, or - like grocery lists, or checking wind speed - can do in my head or by looking outside. What remains I can do much better on an actual computer with a keyboard that lets me type at full speed, or a tablet that has a screen that's (almost :-() big enough to actually read things.
And even then, the tablet a) really isn't big enough to read topo maps, and b) like the cell phone, isn't readable outside in the daytime, unless you can find a really shady spot.
