People would fly by only to get caught at the light, then I would catch right back up to them not having to brake at all.
So many people race to red lights and then slam on their brakes. That's just not safe driving regardless. Regardless of traffic, I will never race to a red light and slam on my brakes, period.

Not only unsafe, but also needlessly hard on the vehicle. I rag on my wife for this behavior, but I think I finally convinced her when our last van needed new brake pads at 70k miles (and it looked like they had been replaced once before already, we didn't buy it new), while meanwhile my F150 has 199k on the factory brakes, which are still fine.
