A good old body-on-frame layout may have its drawbacks, but if you wouldn't be willing to keep your vehicle looking mostly stock it still allows you to go extreme without so much risk of compromising the structural integrity.

I'm defiantly keeping it looking mostly stock - not even going as far as an aerocover or wheel skirts; I may do wheel covers and a skid plate.
