The capacity and reliability of the electric grid is in question. Adding capacity will take time and money. Small scale nuclear and hydroelectric will be part of the solution. Putting solar cells over parking lots could help merchants and perhaps reduce the need for plowing snow. We are vulnerable to nuclear EMP strikes. Costs per mile over the economic life of the vehicle will be watched closely.
