Well; that's a later idea, in the same thread.
That thread starts with the above, gapped backward flow out of belly-pan idea.
So it's like the very reason for the thread went completely unnoticed because of a link, rather than 2 embedded pics..!??

(When you think about it, the A-pillar idea is just a continuation of this; 'Radiator air out hood vent' thing used in a lot of race cars:

ie: Race cars vent radiator air into the low pressure area of the hood:

To both (Meredith Effect) suck the air out/through
And
negate the unwanted lift in that area.

ie: Just do the same on the roof low pressure area.
