You're trying to get flowing air to go around a (rounded) corner it normally wouldn't.
Where it would break away and become turbulent.
So where would you put DBD..?
Leading:
Imagine you are shooting ping-pong balls, in the direction of airflow only, at the nose of a car.
Any ball that comes straight back is where there's static pressure buildup.
Any direction besides straight back is better.
With parallel to the surface best. (It even creates vacuum, pulling the car forward)
So where would you put DBD..?
