For most of the tank I had cut a wire in the IMA compartment that meant it was constantly charging the 12V battery which could have put a little extra load on the IMA. I got the wire back together near the end. Also, I cleaned out the EGR passages around 400 miles but it was pretty clean as far as these cars go." |

100% Hypermiling, went for the record.
300 miles in I got two new RE92s for the front of the car. They should finally be broken in now at the end of the tank.
Around 450 miles some idiot smashed into the car, damaging it. Some driving (about 100 miles) was done without the passenger side rocker panel or real wheel cover, which hurt aero. Also, at the same time one of the back tires, a 7-yr-old RE92 started to delaminate, so the last 300~ miles were done with the spare wheel on the back driver's side pumped up to 60 PSI. I ordered new RE92s for the back but they're not in yet.
Despite this adversity, this tank ended up being my 2nd best tank ever, only surpassed by a 78 mpg tank from October 2016 in my old Silver 2001 Insight. That tank was 90 Octane Ethanol Free while this one was 87 Octane Ethanol Free, so maybe on my next tank (which is 90 Octane E-Free like my record tank) I have a chance to set a new record.  " |
