"First tank, approximation as I apparently threw out the receipt. The gallons used is correct, the distance travelled, which was written on the receipt, is the guesstimate.
I have worked on sealing up the hood as it is lacking in this area. That entailed utilizing weather stripping on the major dimensions. At the moment it's somewhat temporary and I have some better closed cell proper automotive door/hood-type gasket that I think will work on the way.
I've also removed the centerline tow hook as it hangs into the airstream (and weighs about 5 lbs.) and sealed with aluminum tape in the general area." |

"Mystified by this tank. Working in Mooresville for 3 days, so 3 solid 50+ round trip days all on the Interstate. AND...ANNNNDD...I added grill blockers about 1/4 way into tank. Yet, one of the worst tanks ever. Mystified.
One thing to add. Left rear tire has been intermittently low and I've been having to add air to it about every 3 days. Thus it would go from its high of around 44 psi, past the recommended psi (32 or so?), then down to around 20. Not sure what the threshold is for the TPS to go off, surely it's as it dips below 32? Internets says 25% below recommended, thus around 24 psi? Point all being, there have been mornings where I've noticed the TPS lit, I've driven to work and back (it's a short round trip and believe it or not, the tire never look visibly low), and then filled my tire up when I got home. I wouldn't think that alone, one tire below 24 psi, could be the pure driver for the crap MPG? Given the grill blockers were just added, I'm more suspicious of them.
Anyway, just one more pieces of anecdotal data. The grill blockers should be a no-brainer gain. So maybe it is that intermittent low tire." |
