Edit: Fuel qty adjusted to compensate 2011-05-22"

2011-04-10 320 10.4 $3.85 30.77 "More short-distance driving this tank brought the overall mpg down a bit. Forgot to record the miles before filling up, so I used the last known tank average from SG."

2011-04-30 229 6.654 $3.96 34.42 "Used a mixture of E85 ($3.25/gal) with regular 87 ($4.19/gal) for a blend of about E20 for this fillup. MPG seems to have improved so far. Might try E30 if the results of next fillup are favorable."
2011-05-04 403 12.13 $4.02 33.22 "First tank of E20 blend. Fuel % was increased on SG, not sure if this was just due to the pump, or actually a result of the fuel. This fillup was E30 blend."
2011-05-10 409 12.2 $3.87 33.52 "90% highway. E30 on this tank, MPG seems to be holding right where it's at. Had to adjust SG fuel% up a few points. Surprisingly, MPG does not seem to be suffering much with the increase in ethanol. E30 starts knocking at about 26"" man. press. Fuel trim was +4 to +6.

This fillup was a blend of E40. I was able to run right up to 29"" man. press. (100% load) with E40. Still not sure if BSFC is better in that range though. Fuel trim runs around +7 city on E40."
2011-05-16 236 7.619 $4.07 30.98 "E40 for this tank. Fuel trim running +3 at cruise, up to +10 city. Can run up to 29.9"" MAP at 2500 RPM and 27"" at 1500 RPM, although 22"" is still the sweet spot. MPG still the same or better than regular fuel. SG fuel% was dead-on this time, didn't need to adjust.

Had to refill with midgrade 89 E10 because I cut the return trip a little too close with this tank. This brings the tank E% to 24%. Strangely enough, the return trip reported worse MPGs with a tailwind. Not sure if this is just because SG has been calibrated to the increasing E% in the fuel. But I did notice higher MAP required to maintain cruising speed on E24 than on E40.

More city driving and road construction also hurt MPG on this tank."
2011-05-19 406 12.46 $4.03 32.58 "E26 blend. Some construction and testing brought the overall average down for this tank."
