Very pleased with the mpg after rebuild. Less pleased that I'm burning almost a quart of oil every day now. ( It's blowing smoke on acceleration, so I'm told it's likely piston rings. Either they've been bad for awhile, or I dropped something in the cylinders when I did the head. Crap."

New rings seems to have done the trick, plus the new valve set. Mileage not as high as after first rebuild, but compression is better, and the new rings may account for that? Doesn't matter, I can live with no oil use, and around 50 mpg at 55 mph on the commute!"
