this time i filled up at the same pump to make sure the sc2 was calibrated. its getting hotter and mpgs are going up. I should have installed that grill block a long time ago. It helped due to cutting the frontral drag. Winter numbers would have been alot better.
i think it cost me like 3 bucks for the foam pipe insulation.

I installed foam pipe as a grill block on my s10. It's like 80 % blocked and seemed to help a little on aerodrag. It has 2 large linear openings on the front grill and over heating is not a issue my s10 also has a large radiator. This upcoming tank will reveal a possible difference if the grill block worked but I did noticed that I coasted further from my marked spots.

I changed to Castrol Syntec 5w20. I've been using Mobil1 5w20 full syn for a year. I don't think the brand will make a difference but the weight is the same.April and May, i should be in the 27 mpg's or higher. I'm also thinking about changing my wide 255/60/15s for a thinner stock tire like 215/70/15. the wide tires seem to create a larger load when taking off but until i downsize, i'll know for sure.

I just changed the differential oil to mobil 1 synthetic gear oil. The scan gauge is giving me 1 to 2 more mpgs at times more than normal. Less throttle is needed to maintain speed and accerlerate.The school zones and dropping off the kids still bring the average down but lets see if it helped on this new tank.I also had my o/d fixed and upgraded to dexronVI transfluid.
