I can't find a picture of the interior of Rod Emory's 356 Special, but it had a child seat in a 2+½ configuration. 356s don't have any rear legroom anyway.

Anyways the wind tunnel pix are beside the point. Anything interesting is happening in the underbody. It's probably like an Aston Martin Valkyrie, a car shape draped over some black voodoo magik that involves a front wing and rear difusser boxes.

A further thought about the seating arrangment... the designers pretty cleverly made the tapered passenger cabin into a plausibly functional space despite the 2/2/1 seating row arrangement. They got the baby into the game. And grandma sits in the rumble seat. Clever marketing story, though who knows how many will buy it, if it ever comes to market.

Even less chance I could find a picture of a car I saw at the 1960[ish] Portland Roadster Show. Someone had taken a Chrysler sedan and cut it down into effectively a purple Crossfire. It had a scaled down [matching] bucket seat above the differential.

A diamond shaped cabin seems to fit between the four wheel wells once the engine compartment is gone.

0.146 ...???

As the old saying goes...

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence...

Hopefully they’ll release more information regarding how they came up with that number.

I still like the styling and the interior layout .

I saw that as well. While the air is disturbed, is it really then pulled along with drag? I assume the full scale wind tunnel has the ability to measure the Cd no matter what the smoke is showing.

I agree it's hard to trust China.

Trust China?

The only way to trust a communist regime is to pay close attention to what they say.

Then, run the other way AFAP.

I'm guessing 0.146 goes up by some when you put cooling radiators in.

The front opening is channeling air under the car, I wonder how that's done. Lots of cars coming out with clever underbody these days. Center tunnel could be used to channel air without as much ground effect.

Tires look BMW i3 skinny:

That's gotta be ...155? 165?

The concave rear end makes me wonder if they discovered something about how to make a better "fluid tail".

If nothing else, the compound curved panel could be lighter than a flat plate.

The lights mimic the Cypbertruck and the front corners are compound curve variants on the chamfered corner of the same Cybertuck.

Agreed the underside is probably where the interesting stuff is.

It's scary to think what the Chinese people could accomplish if they weren't besotted with bad governance.

edit: I'd hate for this thread to get locked too.

Nice HQ, eh?

I liked it from the first glimpse of duct tape in one of the wind tunnel shots.

It's hard to make fake claims about a shape you intend to produce. At least, if you don't want the inevitable backlash to overshadow what you actually did accomplish.

I'm a fan.
