Well, your state is either dying OR not.

According to https://poweroutage.us/ Oregon currently has 50,000 or more without electric power.

Washington and Colorado at 10K+.

50K people without power less than 24 hours after a storm is a sign of a failing state to you? 70 mph winds tend to bring down trees that take out powerlines on the way down.

This was my fault. I ordered a generator online Monday, guaranteeing power outages before it's delivered. So we were without power yesterday morning.

No.

It was a cheap shot, to play on state's abbreviations, and a way to share a website I'd discovered.

Signs would include the new boss (same as the old boss), and Antifa in the woods with brush burners and leaf blowers.

I'd like a county-by-county map (anyone have a link) because I suspect the center would be North of redpoint5's location.

I still receive notifications for Accords for sale, although not for anything else.

I have seen Prii for sale that only seemed to be good for parts, but you can set up a Prius to power a house.

Imagine someone comes over and says "You need to haul away that junk Prius!"
"My backup generator?"
"No, that junk Prius!"
"That's my backup generator."

ConVerdant Vehicles, LLC. already sells kits to turn hybrids into plug-in hybrids--but its 'Plug-Out Kit' lets owners convert their hybrid into an emergency power generator.
[snip]
The company sells a selection of different kits depending on your needs--basic 1 kW kits start at just under $200, while larger 3 kW 'Island' kits run to $1,300.
Interesting, they just turned their existing product upside down.

The website you linked has county by county maps - just click on the state.

Not surprising the heaviest hit area is out on the coast where the wind was above 40 mph sustained and gusting up to 70 mph. PDX only recorded gusts in the high 40's.

Well that did it!

The last time I've had a sustained power outage was in 2011 when I lived in Alabama and we had a Tornado supercell come through and spawn 360 tornadoes included an EF4 that went though the University of Alabama campus not too far away. We had 10 EF4 or EF5 tornadoes in Alabama that day.

Since moving to Oregon 8 years ago we haven't had a single unscheduled power loss that has lasted more than a few minutes. Yesterday I lost power for 10 - 15 seconds 3-4 times. One of the benefits of living in an area with the vast majority of the electrical distribution underground.

I had hoped to generate (ha) the opposing force to that, namely getting a generator and having it never come on. Sadly that did not happen; since it's been in service, about 7 weeks, we have used it FOUR times. The most recent was a 23 hour session. Lots of dead ash trees around these parts.

I came back here to say that, I was out racking leaves.

Looking at it now, I'm seeing three four colors that aren't on their outage scale.

I'm situated right between a substation and the maintenance yard, but I still have a bug-out bag.

I'm starting to like the idea of a pusher trailer made from a Prius. Could the battery pack be relocated to over the drive train?
