I’m gonna have to step up to an MS3X controller to get full sequential fuel injection. It sucks because it’s double the price of the microsquirt, but has far greater capabilities.

I opted for the MS3X for mine because I figured better control of the injection would help for lean burn tuning. I still haven't done anything with it besides put it (mostly) together.

Even though it would take longer to pay off if you were looking for fuel savings alone, it's still worth due to eventual performance and emission improvements achievable. |

Oh, nothing I’ve been doing to this engine is going to pay off in fuel savings by the car dies a rusty death, but hopefully I get to experience something sorta great as a result

Of course. And even if the engine eventually gets to outlive the bodyshell it's currently installed, who knows what else could you try to fit this engine later on... |

Engine is mostly assembled now. Cylinder head is finish ported and the deck surface shaved .040” for a new static compression ratio of 10.4:1

Is it out of question to test some ethanol in this engine?

I actually wanna add a flex fuel sensor to be Abel to switch to E85 on the fly. It’ll come in handy when I grow bored at the current power level and decide to toss on a snail

AFAIK there is no such thing as a flexfuel sensor, so flexfuels usually rely on the O² sensor to provide input and adjust the fuel trim.

Flex fuel Ford Taurus has an ethanol content sensor so the car can adjust the ecm mapping. The car I saw it on was a 2006-2010.
