To get the placement of the bearing unit correct, I needed a press, which is why I took it to a machinist once I had the old unit out of the knuckle and the new unit in hand. It would be surprising if the saturn did not have a bearing unit, wouldn't it?

I know of the bearing/hub assembly but I don’t know if you could buy just the bearing itself... don’t know why you even would...

I’ve got some tire spats made up but need to figure out mounts for them... instead of using a flat piece of coroplast like last time I cut rings out of 8” thinwall HDPE pipe and then cut them in half for four semi circular pieces... the thought is to mount them so that some air is diverted away from the tires on both sides (pipe is wider than my tires are)... in theory using the rounded spat will work better than a flat piece, right?

Sounds more like a strake than a spat. Is that right? And if so, I think the answer to your question is a qualified yes. Qualified because relative effectiveness sure still depends on your specific execution. I think. Got pics?

I haven’t taken any pics yet because they aren’t installed, just lying in the rear floorboards adding useless weight...

I started modding my rain guards today... just basically cut off the pocket at the rear of them with a rotary tool

I had to change them on a Nissan 01 Altima, they had to be pressed in and out, but harbor freight has $100 took kit to do it without removing the spindles. Also need a slide hammer to rip the hub assembly out. Easiest to just buy new hub assembly and bearing because part of the bearing will be stuck on the hub.

GM's and 11 Rogue have a flanged hub assembly that bolts to the spindle with 4 bolts from the inside. Trick with those is after getting brakes out of the way, turn steering wheel to limit front out so can get long handle breaker bar to the bolts.

Depending on the car I've jacked one front tire up, start car and put in gear spin it up and easy to tell which one is bad. Any more I just do both, 2nd one takes half the time of the first if I do it same day.

I don’t figure it’ll be bad at all to change the bearings once I’m ready (have cash to pay for parts), I did the ones on my Ion Redline in about an hour per side...

I got some work done on the car tonight, a half width diffuser/rear belly pan...

I done half width because the exhaust system is soon due for service/upgrade and I don’t wanna have to remake the diffuser once I change the muffler setup... on that note, I’m planning a 42” glasspack resonator and a Thrush welded muffler... the muffler case is shorter and slimmer than the stock one (but wider), so it should tuck tighter to the underside of the car, meaning a flatter diffuser...

So I’m planning to get a set of new tires with this coming tax return, for both mine and my wife’s car, and I’m kinda stumped...

She wants to use the factory uplevel tire/wheel size (205/55-16) while I wanna keep my 5.3% oversize but stay on my original wheel (205/65-15), and I want us using the same brand and model tire if possible... I have a couple local options and then I’d likely be shopping online for anything else...

1. LingLong Crosswind... unknown info other than price which was $200 installed for a full set...
2. Mastercraft LSR grand touring

3. Hankook Kinergy ST... from what I’ve seen, it’s LRR and also the lightest per tire at 19# for my size...

Im not shelling out $100+ per tire for Bridgestone or Michelin, but would be open to any other suggestions...
