I went out and took one lol. What you seen is less of a mount and more of a brace to hold the thing up, the actual mounting is done with screws through the front part of the spoiler into the plastic trunklid endcap.

Cool. I like the way you angle the ends into the trunk lid gap, I have thought of that too, but I have not done it. I hope it holds well for ya.

I’m not sure that my mounting technique in particular could be so easily adapted to other cars. My Saturn has a plastic end cap on the trunk, all the trunks are the same between the Ion sedan and coupe, with the distinction being in the end cap. The end cap provides a nice flat surface into which to sink screws for holding the sides of the spoiler on. I don’t know what the trunk looks like on a Civic though

I'm a fan too. My car has a similar plastic end-cap I could attach one to.

I got bored today...

Decided to swap my Redline front clip onto my car despite it not being in paint. The “A” pillar trim needs some work due to a fitment issue but I’m happy with it so far. No longer am I running a deep air dam, I’m planning to add tire air deflectors to a splitter and go with that. Splitter should go back into the engine subframe for a good start to a belly pan. Ditching the air dam lessens frontal area a little anyway. I also used the Redline side skirts which are about 1” lower than stock ones are. I now need to do some testing on the fender vents, I’m sure I’ll find time at some point soon, especially with work halted.

More progress!

I swapped my other wheel set over with new front tires. Still using same tire and size and pressure, just on a much lighter wheel. Never got to weigh them though, so the true gain is a mystery. It feels good though, and despite still missing smooth covers and center caps I think I’ve gained mileage with these. More data to come!

Worth noting that prior to the wheel/tire swap with careful throttle use and on flat ground I could manage 48-50mpg instant at 60mph. I guess ditching the mirrors and the fender vents and the front tire strakes were helping?

Don't you remove the side window fairing? Because they create air resistance ...

I cut the rear ones to reduce the drag they create. It’s nice having them for when it rains, I’m not devoted yet to remove them

Makes me wonder how the lower weight of those wheels could effectively decrease rolling resistence.

I made some more progress on the car the other day. Nothing new efficiency related but I got some paint work done and wrapped my mirror delete blanks for a nicer look overall. I’ll likely leave the hood in primer until the hood vent holes are cut in but it looks much nicer with more red on it and all the white coroplast covered up
