Eh, I guess.
I could have made a much simpler battery rack and motor mount, but I have the know-how, tools, and time to make something more robust and tailored to my preferences.
You'll have to make a battery rack and motor mount for any electric motorcycle conversion. I'm just leaning towards cheaper parts, more modest performance figures, and a higher percentage of parts made from scratch.

How much does the bike weight without the ice/tranny?
estimated weight after conversion?

I'm considering buying a honda cr125 w/o motor to do a similar project so I really appreciate you putting this up here for us to see. And yes, some of your work is quite custom but I can see where a simpler less custom approach could be substituted so no worries. Keep the updates and pics coming. Thanks!

The only part I've weighed is the main frame fork and triple-tree which measures 28 pounds without the battery cage. I will weigh all the parts once the battery rack is welded in.
Frame & wheel weight should be around 90 to 105 pounds.

My final target weight is 250 pounds or less.

Its an excellent first EV project. Plus you get a "stealth" bike out of it too

A goldwing! Wow, you could probably haul enough batteries for an electric vehicle. I'd really like to see how your project works out in regards to speed and range. If ya get it post up your project progress (in a new thread of course)

As for capnslug, any progress today?

Well, wouldn't keep it too much of a goldwing, I'd turn it into a bobber or cafe racer.
