2005 Civic Upper Grill Block

It was raining so I did some work. A very easy temp solution using 1" grey pipe insulation and a pair of scissors.

I got the scanguage installed and setup to monitor FWT and IAT throughout all conditions of "normal ops."

The first full fill was pleasant surprise.

Please clarify what a 'pleasant surprise' is.

35% over EPA combined and $51 less than the RAM would have cost me for same mileage.

I just go it, about 450 miles ago. This is first full fill I've done, the other was a partial after purchase. The old owner had fuel log, and she would have gotten about 30.8 mpg from my partial fill. She was mostly a city driver.

And the insulation matches the color of you car! It's always nice when you don't have to paint your mod.

I think I'll have a go at thermostatically controlled bottom half. Maybe fix the outer 25% on each side then make the remainder Temperature controlled. I'll probably "manually control it" until I know what total square area I'll need for AC and 95 degree FL days. Being into Mopars, I have a few old choke cables and air duct cables hangin' about. I even have a few electric servos and AC parts that could help with prototyping.

Found bumper assembly

One of my buddies at a body shop has me a bumper assembly for prototyping. The DS corner is all bugered up, but the center section is good for mockup! Figure I can make more progress on something I don't have to drive everyday.

Great use of pipe insulation. I'll definately be using it to block my upper grill this week.
