...it looks like the Cruze Eco was originally to be named the Cruze XFE (#8):

Old Tele man -

I wish they had kept the XFE moniker. Doesn't mean someone couldn't retrofit a Cobalt XFE onto the Cruze.

Honestly cfg83, I agree. The 'Eco' moniker might alienate some people from a good car, namely those who don't believe in global climate change. XFE is a good moniker, but the car itself still a good car, name aside.

The 'Eco' moniker is something people understand without explanation, while you have to explain 'XFE' to most people.

Believing in global change or not makes little difference. What people do understand is $5 per gallon of gas and that the 'Eco' will save the average person $250+ a year when compared to the non Eco version.

I kind of like the "XFE" moniker too, but I can see that "Eco" is more informative.
It can stand for "economical" and/or "ecological".

Hello -

I like the chrome horizontal part :

That's a good place for an "Ecomodder.com" emblem and/or a changing MPG label (if it's magnetic, that is).

...I don't know if that shiny embelishment between the taillights is aluminum or steel, but I'll check (with a magnet) and let you know when the wife gets back this weekend with the car.

Its likely to be chromed plastic knowing GM, as well as most automakers these days not putting actual metal bright work on cars these days.

...just checked, and although it actually "looks & feels" like plated plastic, a magnet actually does stick to it, so maybe it's got enough nickel plating to be magnetic?!?!?
