And yes, by jove, the Mirage is nowhere near dangerously slow. Not compared to old eco-cars that took half-a-minute to hit the big six-oh.

1.0 lit 3 cyl engine plus 1.1 lit 4 cyl engine - 6.38 lit/100 km

Basically, had a Mirage been set to operate with ethanol, it would still be more fuel-efficient than a Hyundai i10 or HB20...

Yeah, I do like the 1.2 better. It sounds better, too.

Part of it may be down to the transmissions, but I once hypermiled the hell out of a manual 1.0 Picanto, only to get the same economy I get out of the Mirage driving normally.

A couple weeks back I made my own rear anti-sway bar for the Mirage. So far it is working amazingly well. It completely transforms how the car handles. Previously, there was tons of body roll in corners, and taking them fast did not inspire confidence. This is a big complaint with the car by reviewers and owners alike. With the bar installed, it reduces body roll massively. It feels well planted in the corners. No handling machine / Miata mind you, but a huge difference from stock.

Getting ready to install them on the spring perches.





All mounted up. SOME adjustment required with the huge slot. The dang thing just wouldn't square up.





Tacked together.





Looks good to me. Not the prettiest, but its a prototype.





The next step was to remove it and finish weld.





I then prepped, primed, and painted the bar. Here are a few shots of it reinstalled. I did remedy the hardware length issue, though it did stay perfectly tight for about half a week until I got a warm enough day to swap out the bolts.

Quite pretty in the end. hat made you decide to fabricate one? Cheaper? None available for this car? Odd parts laying around?

There is an Ultra Racing brand rear sway bar for the car. However, the cost is quite a bit higher than I'd like at $225. I also wanted to try it out and learn something new. I read books, read online and figured out some of the science behind making them.

I own an I10. Won it in a lottery

It is my wife's DD; it only does local trips, so its FE is abominable.
Also, it kinda invites a heavy foot, and my wife responds well to the call
