I dont know if it just looks like it in the pictures but seems to take off a lot ground clearance? Or are you going cut that lower corner later on?

Fantastic job, Daox! Now I want to try that myself! Think it'd work if the bar mounting plate was mounted inside the hollow of the beam? I can see making the plate flat, and then welding a flange to fit into the beam area.

Sadly, they have none here. I expect it could be pretty economical, as the 1.2 already hangs with the local 1.0 crowd very well. Only Suzuki makes a 1.0 that's even just a tiny bit better than the Mirage 1.2.

Yeah, it is taking up a lot of clearance. I may cut it parallel to the ground if I take it off. I'm really not too concerned about it for the time being. I don't off-road much in the Mirage.

Thanks Niky.

Basically, anything that prevents the rear axle beam from twisting will improve the anti-roll properties. Mounting a bar inside the beam is an absolute possibility and some OEMs even do this (my Prius is an example). I had tried some more simple and cheaper mods that reinforced the rear beam, but they just didn't seem to work well enough to make a big enough difference. I'd still like to find a less expensive way to improve the roll resistance. But, this is working really well for now.

Same thing! But yes. Amazing how the Koreans and even Toyota struggle to match, with variable valve timing and etcetera, what the Suzuki motor can do with a simple fixed cam.

Yes, it's quite surprising that some tech that might be pointed as outdated still leads to good results. Plus it's supposed to keep maintenance costs down, which is a valuable asset in this segment.

A little while back I drew up an exhaust header for the Mirage. The stock one just looks awful from a flow perspective. Here is a picture of it.

I wanted to see if it was even possible to cram something in there that would flow a bit better, and drop right in to the OEM exhaust. It would bolt up to the piece with the CAT on it. This is roughly what I came up with.

I also had my 3rd fill up. 44 mpg in February is pretty good I'd say.
