I'm just waiting on details/pricing of the Colorado with Diesel. I tow a trailer almost every weekend. The torque is what I need.

In the versions of the 2.8L fitted with the automatic transmission, the torque is the same as the Vortec 5300 V8.

500 Nms, if I recall right, from the 200 hp version of the 2.8.

Pretty nippy motor.

Eventually the U.S.-spec version is going to be slightly detuned due to all the emissions garbage, keeping in the 180hp/470Nm of the previous versions.

I like how the 2015 Colorado diesel never materialized, became a 2016 and is well on its way to also not materialize.

The EPA rating might only be 30 mpg but I bet most drivers beat that. The 1500 Ram is only rated at 28 mpg but normal people are well into the 30's. Add some ecomodder tricks to the list and I bet you could beat 35 pretty easy. At least for now diesel cost less then unlead here. The problem is it is over $30,000, as is the Ram even a year old used is over $30k.

TheFastLaneTruck has a U-tube video with the diesel Canyon towing a New Corvette. They also have Frontier diesel test drive video. I was fuming for a while over not getting the diesel Mazda CX-5 but I'm over it now.

Plenty of diesel Colorados/Canyons are being ordered according to the Coloradofans website. Gmc had 2.8l option on its build page, but no price-but that has disappeared. There is still an option on the GMC build page that is the diesel option (I think its the exhaust brake), but it is not listed as such. The price for that option is over $3750+ and it deletes the v6 option.

I went on the page and was able to price one. They didn't list the motor but when you checked a different mandatory "option" the diesel required it added the motor as well. I can't remember what that option was now but it ended up over $30k for a 4x4 4 door. It's also only available on the off road or top trim package.

Edit: it was the exhaust brake option. The total MSRP was $35,090.
