The price of crude just fell off a cliff in the last 2 days. It was all speculation from investors looking to diversify away from stocks and bonds. Same with the dollar decline which has reversed. Most of us won't be seeing $4 gas any time soon.

well, dollar reverse is good, 4 buck gas not showing up soon is good to an extent. it'll be good now for us, bad in the long run.

I finally paid $4.00 a gallon
Filled up in Houston (direct link to oil company profits) for 4.02 a gallon. Saw as high as 4.50 and as low as 3.89 while in the Great state of Texas.
But on the + side I got 53.4 mpg :-)

Even though the $/BBL of oil has dropped significantly, the price of gas around here hasn't really. I wonder if oil producers are going to take this opportunity to increase their profit margins, which have been extremely thin compared to usual levels.

I still wouldn't be surprised to see $4 gas this summer, but it's nice to see a rebound.

They caught on that diesel cars get better mpg, so they jacked up the price..

$4.69 for diesel Ft Montgomery, NY. Remember #2 and heating oil aren't the same anymore. Pump diesel is now ultra low sulfer.

National average today is $3.39 / gal. All the more reason to hypermile...

I predict that we will see near $4/gal gasoline by the end of summer. The current administration will milk us for all they can before they are escorted out of office.

wars use diesel not gasoline

fortunately diesels will run on anything from heated parafinn, to transmission grease mixed with gasoline, to soybean oil. just make sure it is well filtered.

What kind of MPG do you suppose the military ground fleet averages? Aside from the diesel KLR bikes, I'd think pretty poor. Wonder how diesel prices would change were the war to end, saw, sometime next January...
