Yeah LED or HID is the way to go. The silverstars were an impulse buy. I need to upgrade the entire lighting/electrical system. The headlight wiring has some corrosion and I'm running a tiny walmart battery.

I am satisfied with my HID headlight brightness, but not the housings which are not great. My LED brake lights are fine. But I am not happy with the luminosity of the backup LEDs... they still not bright enough.

It is uncanny how similar your car is to my 1996 honda civic lx dark green 159k miles when i bought it. Same radio. Same mods. Just the body on mine was nas-T. Got great gas mileage around town though. Highway.... Meh. Rpms are just too high.

3130 miles from the last update, all is well, 45MPG. This year I will be focused more on this project. I have a lot of plans, ideas and ebay shopping carts setup. I had to remove the belly pan, it didn't last the winter.

All I did this winter was change the oil & filter and drive.

Which failed, the Zip ties or the Coroplast?

It's just something that I used to discuss attaching a Kamm-back, but is in fact an attachment kit for an Audi undertray. Two or three of these kits would be better than Zip ties.

It is as rigid as 5/8" plywood at 1/10th the weight. More better than Coroplast.

I removed the wind catchers near the tires.

Where did those fit around the tires? Your list of aerodynamic mods doesn't include a proper difusser?

The coroplast started sagging in the middle under the engine, I ran over a big stick that flew out of a trailer. I could have fixed it but its time to do it better. Road noise has increased without the bellypan. Coroplast is fine for the middle section I think. Polymetal looks very useful, I will look for it locally. A permanent solution with easy engine access would be really nice.

Polymetal is used for commercial signage. Maybe you could find an old sign made of it. Similar products to Polymetal are Grimco Maxmetal and Aluma Panel.

I got those sample pieces from a local distributor, Multicraft Plastics.
