I knew it! You shared a link with your fifth post! It happens all of the time around here!

By the way, responding with "Found the..." is a popular way to start a joke. For example:

"What are your favorite methods for choosing a password?"
"Found the hacker!"

or...

"What are your favorite places for hiding valuables?"
"Found the burglar!"

Could the brand-new member who does not use English natively be a shill?

Maybe.

However, those first five posts with a link in the fifth usually come right away. I may be cynical, but Aptera has a reputation and a number of technological issues to overcome. Sure, people can still believe in them, for some reason, but do you know what is a bigger red flag?

Responding to one of my threads with "Interesting!"

Welcome to the forum. Don't mind me, I am mostly harmless, although overly fond of memes and social references. Also, I am very rarely funny, but I insist on trying.

He doesn't bite. At least— not me, not yet.

I have my own design for a reverse tricycle:

(optional fourth wheel is for racing class rules)

Is that 300,000km for a hub motor of a meaningful to impressive size in a car size application?
We are not talking about little 1 to 3 horse toy hub motors for bicycles anymore.
If they last 300,000km on real roads, with real pot holes, at highway speeds with real dirt, water and mud then why have none of the manufacturers mass produced a hub motor car?
8 to 10 years ago it seemed like all the manufacturersame wanted to be the first to build a hub motor car.
Now it seems like they wouldn't do it even if the hub motors were given to them for free.

Aptera is talking about steering the car only via torque vectoring.
.
"With in-wheel motor technology, Aptera can bypass the need for a traditional steering rack and simply use power-vectoring directional control instead"

Would that be good or bad? I can steer my bike just by leaning!

I can also stop my bike just by leaning...

I had missed that detail - that is a different approach to steering.

It is not unlike some of the things Rivian is talking about, with some wheels being able to be spun in the opposite direction of the other wheels.

Just look at the turning circle. Parking/unparking.

Skid steer is interesting as an “enhancement” to normal steering but really somewhat useless when you start driving in the real world you know in weather.

Sounds like another work around for the crap hub motor design.
They must have figured out they can't piviot the wheels to steer the vehicle.

I admire their dedication to stupidity. Fix one idea that's never worked with another idea that's never been attempted.
I feel like these Aptera people are the kind of people who have never worked on a car before, heck they probably don't even know how to pop the hood on their own car.
