Thanks for your post!

The only question I have is: where is there a dinky EV (like my dinky car I had) that's even more efficient than all these much larger and much more powerful EV's? Will there ever be one sold in the USA?

Ok, sorry. That was two questions. But I really did enjoy that dinky car and may even go get it again.

You see, that's what I personally want. I don't want an SUV or a mighty pickup. I want an economy car that's fun to drive.

Ok, so I'm preemptively thinking you're going to say the Chevy Bolt. Ya, maybe the Bolt would do it for me. Too bad it doesn't have a 52hp motor and a stick shift, but it's ok for a modern car. But for some reason I just don't feel excited about the Bolt like I do with my 1985 VW diesel. Maybe I just need to see a Bolt in person to get used to the idea.

How much did you pay for your Leaf?
About $9,000, then sold it for $7,000 a year later. That was my first car with a car payment.

I'd say those improvements in the EV world in just 6 years is pretty exciting. We're barely into the 2nd decade of EVs, and look how far we've come.
Fine. You're starting to get me kind of excited about other EV's besides the Aptera. I'm still excited about the Aptera though!

If however, one could simultaneously experience both eras at the same time, this one would be more exciting.

I thought this was interesting. The Model T had 21" wheels and aluminum door skins.

Yes.

I'll not disclose my methods and proclivity to oppose authoritarian transgression against the sovereignty of the individual here, but I'll say that it's more of an abrupt transition than a linear progression. Not inclined to slink into obscurity as a strategy, either.

Last time I rode in a pickup bed was on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

This dumpster fire is going to get started with production with way less money and time than inept-Aptera.

This time next year Aptera will still be begging for money.

As always it's about fitness for use and cost per mile over the vehicle life. A tricycle is still a motorcycle in NYS and requires a separate license. The question for BEVs is where to plug it in. Hopefully will see replacements for li-on batteries that catch fire.

The problem with the platform is jurisdictional? Is NYS New York State? Explains a lot. Oh, well.

The thread is about a solar-electric hybrid.

Trikes are considered motorcycles only in many states. The aptera is currently a motorcycle but that is rarely mentioned in the sales papers. They could have applied for an exemption that I am unaware of and their published sales data neglects to mention licensing requirements.

Some people pursue this because of the lesser safety restrictions, but you should already know that.
