Aragonis used to unsubscribe to threads as well.

I have an appointment on hte West side tomorrow. I'm going to stop by the rental location and badger their hired help.

Aragonis seemed like a good guy.

It should have been "Make America Great Again Today!"

That acronym sounds much better out loud!

Agreed. I miss his perspective.

Since I'm being sparse with my comments, let the record show that the sig line on that day was 'MAGA in a single word is 'countercoup'. It turns out I can back-propogate old posts with little effort. I should keep a list of the old ones.

I stopped by the rental location and talked to some kid about how they are desperate for help. I shall put my resume on a thumb drive.

500 production vehicles by years end and half-day rentals by the end of the month. The road show is in San Diego right now.

In Flemish, my local Dutch dialect, it sounds like "Ma gat"

And that translates directly into "My ass" !

Frank Lee wrote something offensive.

No, we do not have any idea. He simply disappeared.

MAGAT sounds like "Maggot."

It's rare that people "resign" from EcoModder, but it happens. We've lost a couple of really good members over silliness & politics.

PS: better to work for a company you like rather than volunteer, like the Tesla fans doing customer support work on new Model 3 deliveries.

I do not think this says anything new, but it is nice to see continued coverage: https://jalopnik.com/startup-arcimot...ource=Jalopnik

Of course, the comments are cancer. People comparing it to the Shreveport Shenanigan, although Nathan Fillion received #1 last September; they claimed that you can purchase a nice car for that price (I know that some on here strongly disagree, but I am not a fan of the Mirage!), "Make a motorcycle or a car, not some abomination in between!"

Nobody mentioned this was an affordable electric vehicle. It might be a fraction of the vehicle a Leaf is, but for a fraction of the cost.

I have skimmed this thread and I searched elsewhere; what is their latest estimate for general delivery? I stopped looking when I saw freebeard say he would receive his early this year.

Too much of The World of Cars is in people’s heads. Actually, their unexamined emotions.

$80 is damned cheap to start to get a feel for what it can do. A hard day of errands where cold wind & rain while grocery-getting and supply acquisition is the schedule.

It’s not the buy-in price that matters. It’s whether the damned thing gets used.

Strike One,
if it’s inconvenient, unwieldy or one gets the jitters with pickup owners running traffic lights.

Strike Two,
if it’s unreliable in such conditions (car guys::this crowd) have a lot of patience for sorting, but what’s a toy and what’s a tool shouldn’t take long to figure out.

$80 times X-days of use is a cheap way of getting ahead of the curve.

To spend $12k on such is flat dumb if “the real car” doesn’t ALREADY have weatherproof storage. It’s lifespan maximized in all aspects. The only valid function of an Arcimoto is in furthering that span.

(I can’t wait to read the defenses of avoiding public transportation. Coupled to all the classic crunchy granola, Birkenstock sandal & dirndl skirt wearing misunderstandings of Virtue).

As such a vehicle as substitute is a risk increase to health & life not justified by “money savings”, both personally and to society, it’s a stretch by any measure to call it economical.

Still, money savings isn’t an abstraction. It’s a starting point. Thus, whether the damned thing gets used

is the first question.
