Glad to see you're trying the other approach to making "power", by reducing losses.

It appears that L&S is the leader in homegrown aero using whatever is available - with positive results. He is an inspiration to all the rest of us hackers.

Keep it up! I too wonder what can be done with 12-13hp.

Low&slow gets the prize for; what to do with political campain signs...turn them into an aero shape and paint them black... the mesage is clear; get on with the remidy and stop all the cheap talk.

It 's funny that the subject of recycled election signs came up.... Alan dropped by for a visit this morning and he asked me if I had some coroplast that he could use to put together a quick tailsection for his daughter's motorcyle to enter the Carmel
Vetter Challenge. Scavenged coroplast is catching on!

I like what someone said here. The sign is actually doing more to reduce fuel use than the politician.

70 mph with a tuned 125 in a faired bike is a little disappointing given a CBR 125 would do 80 mph with pretty much the same engine (2 valve single.

I guess it is all about gearing (the CBR is 6 speed when the GN is 5) and fairing (a CBR 125 is really a small bike)

Nobody I have ever talked to has been able to do much more than 75 mph on a CBR125R regardless of gearing. But it would go faster with a full Vetter style streamliner body and could probably keep up with them in competition. You can get them close to 15hp with a loud exhaust.

I'm rockin' the 125 as well, though it's stock on a Yamaha 125 Zuma. Chosen for the stock EFI.

It's only forced-air cooled, but down the line, I'll install an oil cooler as needed; like if streamlining necessitates it.

Anyway, nice to see another 125 active here. I don't have a garage to work in right now, but eventually, I'll have this thing modified quite a bit.

I'd imagine the 125cc is unpopular due to the Vetter challenge being in CA, where I think you need at least 150cc for the highway. I could up this to 150cc, but I'm not sure that would do me good, since it's a registered Zuma.

Oh well, Colorado and future places I'll live are cool with it being on the freeway if I absolutely have to take it there.

There's always the safety factor to consider when riding as well.
