Agreed. The contact area on a banana seat is small and it has little padding.
-Its not too difficult to recover it and add some cushion to a banana seat.

I think that it remains too wide to be ridden comfortably at a height that is kind to the knees and power output.

Bike seats can be comfortable???

With the height my banana seat is at I can slide forward and pedal on the arches of my feet, or slide back and use the balls of my feet for more leverage and push against the sissy bar which is only about three inches high.

A bike seat can, at least, not be uncomfortable. Endurance racers and bike tourists all pedal with the balls of their feet to use the ankle muscles, and use the handlebars for significant support. That's how we do it all day.

For real comfort, safety, and better aero, go recumbent.

I once climbed a hill with a prospective GF, and we were about equally fit. I was amazed that her bicycle range was only a few blocks, not miles. She had never learned to raise her seat to match her growing legs, and was used to doing the cycling version of the duck walk.

That describes it perfectly. Kids these days with their BMX bikes.

I sometimes in the spring/fall I go to my favourite park by the St Lawrence River to sit and read in the car on cool, sunny days. But the gate to this area is locked to block car access from mid-autumn to spring.

Several times I've thought: I just need some kind of lightweight greenhouse that I can transport by bike so I can be warm inside when it's cold outside ... Looks like you have it!

Bike fit in general is like getting a tailored suit. For cold weather I made fairings.
