Right now they are just banned on national PARKS but national forest lands are ok. But then Ranier is actually a national park so they probably are banned there. National forest and BLM Lands are probably 100:1 compared to national park land area. I wonder about desiginated wilderness though? You can't even bring a wheeled hand cart or bicycle in the wilderness... although a 20 mule train is hunky dory. We need hyper realistic robot mules. North Korea probably already has them in their sex industry.

Speaking of sex robots (who brought that up anyway?) Maybe I'm old but I have no desire for a hyper real sex doll but I would pay $100Gs for a hyper real robot of myself I could send to work everyday in my place.

Hersbird. It was Hersbird.

Do you have the $100K up front, or would it be on lease?

I put this in the other thread:

I knew this was coming. So it's officially a 2500 and hence has the lowest in class payload and towing, at by far the highest price.

As was pointed out in the thread, those max payloads are for stripper models (fully loaded versions generally have a laughable payload), Tesla don't sell a stripper model.

Yes, imagine making a light duty truck with so much payload and towing that it gets bumped into the medium duty class. I don't really see the fail. American pick ups have giant V8's, that require giant running gear, that result in pathetic payloads. Not hard to see how Tesla would trump them. My 1.6 litre van has a 2640lbs payload, the F-150 maxes out at 2311lbs LOL. My Prius sized ute can carry 1166lbs, which knocks on the door of the massive 150's 1485lbs in it's 'luxury' spec.

My Van's curb weight is the same as a Class 1 Ford Ranger, but it's superior payload would put it in the 2a Class with the F150. Same thing with the Cybertruck, superior specs put it into the next class.

https://electrek.co/2019/12/13/tesla...-vehicle-carb/

Radar cruise on the Ford is a $7k option package - autopilot is standard - that sort of thing needs to be considered when arguing price. A Corolla has a better payload, towing and range than a Porsche at a cheaper price. You could spend a bunch on money on improving a Corolla, but it will never be a Porsche. You could spend billions of dollars on your ICE truck developing not yet existing technologies to match the performance and economy of a CT, or you could just pay a few grand more and buy the CT. Bargain.

The payloads of the 2500 Ram, F250, and Chevy 2500 are so much higher it doesn't matter if they are stripper models. Even the fully loaded 4wd diesels are going to beat 3500 pounds, if not you still can pay $500 more and get a 3500 version that will have even more cushion.
I'll bet you the 3500 pound Tesla is the 2wd version, I bet the 500 mile 3 motor has the same GVWR as the base and under a 3000 pound payload.
Face it, worst in class payload and towing on the Tesla no matter how you spin it.

Truck owners only pretend to care about payload. Less than 10% of owners use them for work. Maybe 10% of those regularly need full payload.

How well it fits into your ICE categories really is completely missing the point of the CT.

The only vehicle I've ever despised is my Dodge Ram because absolutely everything has been replaced at least once, except the body which is in disarray.

If the Tesla tows 500 pounds less but doesn't take 4 gallons of oil for an oil change, or have a crap transmission, or a finicky fuel pump... or a million other things that suck about full sized trucks, it's a winner.

What if the Tesla was better in every way? What would be the excuse then?

Being opposed to change for changes sake is dumb.
