I was thinking of my own experience.

When I worked for my money it was a case of spending money to save time to make money I couldn't save. Now, with a tax-free government stipend, I can focus on walking and leisurely bus rides.

Uber driving isn't a fixed income, but directly proportional to time spent.

My friend went hard at Uber, and don't quote me because I don't quite remember, but he had worked out that he could gross about $2k per week if he went about as hard as he was willing to.

I haven't done the grind, but I can't think of many things more enjoyable as an occupation than talking with strangers and driving. I'm the one that sits in the front seat when I Uber, and learn the background story of the driver along the way.

Once I got 2 foreign drivers in a same day, one from Argentina and the other from Syria. On the way I recomended a mechanic to the Syrian guy and helped him troubleshoot a failure on the power steering

And not being so fond on that virtue-signalling of pretending to push for "pedestrian-friendly" traffic which became just an excuse for making it harder to drive around, that video sounded quite a BS. Yet I guess you know how much I like the Jeep CJ-5 and the 40-series Toyota Land Cruiser, which BTW are narrower and shorter than some modern cars which are classified as compact nowadays, so I can't really say I totally disagree when someone says newer SUVs are excessively oversized...

Cripple Rooster what all do you know about the gen 3 prius in Brazil? I saw the other day that they came without an EGR system, which is interesting. The EGR system is why they blow up here in america.

AFAIK the failure rate for the EGR here is not abnormally high, but it might also have something to do with the way it's positioned in Brazil as if it was a more upscale model, so its owners are often more concerned about proper maintenance instead of going el cheapo.

Do the new ones have EGR? I saw the gen 3 prius over there has no egr system

I thought for sure the Gen III had EGR? Don't pretty much all modern cars have it now?

AFAIK it has EGR. As it was imported straight from Japan, would be quite pointless to make a few units without EGR exclusive to Brazil.
